How broken is the UN?

This broken.

Russia and China vetoed on Friday a Western-backed U.N. Security Council resolution to impose sanctions on Zimbabwe for holding a violent presidential poll that was boycotted by the opposition candidate.

They didn’t need both of them to veto the resolution – they were just showing off the strength of their alliance.

Will the UN ever be able to get anything done again?

When did the UN get anything done to begin with? I must have missed that.

    No.

Except for funding child rape and prostitution. They’re pretty good at that.

No indeed ! You can also add how the UN is being punked by entities such as the International Criminal Court.

My favorite quote from that article? Glad you asked
“Opponents of the resolution, who also included South Africa,”

Yup, South Africa loved it when the western nations helped them with their dictatorial gov’t, now that their neighbors to the north need some help? Screw em.
