A not-very-competent photoshop,

Obama the Lightworker

…but it’s amusing watching the Left’s hysteria over Barack Obama’s smoking interfere with their deification of what is a very bright and talented, but very ordinary and flawed, man. It’s also fun watching them elevate smoking into some sort of deep moral issue: for all the Right’s complaints about Mr. Obama, cigarettes aren’t one of them.

I think he should take up a pipe. That would give a paternal air that would make his fans swoon, he could shake it at us as he lectures us on what is good for us, and he’d still get his tobacco fix.

Just reachin’ across the aisle, here.

Whoever did the photoshop should have made it Chris Matthews giving him the light.

  2. geoff Says:

That’d be funny, but it’s supposed to be Obama who is “working the light.”

  3. Old Iron Says:

I wonder why the libs aren’t going after him for smoking like they go after me for “polluting their environment with my habit”.

If you follow the “Barack Obama’s smoking” link to Nice Deb’s, you’ll see that there’s a lot of hand-wringing over his smoking habit.

It’s saddening that a President who is unfaithful and who uses his position to have sex with an intern doesn’t bother them at all (it’s his private life), but a President who smokes really troubles them.

  5. Mrs. Peel Says:

I’ve never understood their attitude. I think smoking is gross and try to avoid places where lots of people smoke, but I still manage to remain aware that smoking is not evil.

  6. geoff Says:

I agree. I don’t smoke and I avoid it as much as I can, but it’s not a moral issue.

    Works for me!

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.
