Cartoon Nostalgia

Rosetta’s reminiscing over his childhood cartoons, and Michael’s joining in with some maudlin memories of his own. I recall three cartoons that left a distinct impression, (other than my favorite superhero cartoons, that is). The first was the always-funny Mighty Heroes:

The second was the truly wretched Colonel Bleep (I didn’t say that the “distinct impressions” were necessarily good impressions). Aside from the nonsensical plots and annoying narration, I particularly couldn’t stand the constant blinking of the characters and “futomic energy.” I’ve included a sample so that you can be as irritated as I used to be (though I still do the “standby for adventure!! 3..2..1″ countdown to my long-suffering kids):

An early, early fave of mine was The Impossibles, which nobody seems to remember. A cute little cartoon about Multi-Man, Fluid-Man, and Coil-Man, who played in a rock band when they weren’t fighting crime. Here’s a taste:
