I’ve listened to liberal commenters claim that Bush and his administration are moving toward a totalitarian curtailment of Americans’ rights. “They’re going to put us all in camps! Our speech will be suppressed! There may be no election in 2008!” they cried. Silly stuff, to be sure, but one wonders why they are so conciliatory toward a regime that currently embodies their fears. To whit:
